Q What are your library hours?
A Monday to Saturday: 09:00 am - 05:00 pm, Closed on Sundays and Holidays declared by Government of Rajasthan
Q Which items can I check out?
A Only Books (General, Text Book & Teacher reference) are available. 'Reference Materials’, Non-book Materials’, 'Reports and loose issues of periodicals must be used in the Central Library premises.
Q How can I borrow materials?
A First, verify the availability of a document in the Central Library OPAC search facility available closer to the circulation desk or from the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) in the Central Library. Second, find the book in the open stacks for yourself. Third, check out the books using your Institute Identity Card at Circulation Desk. Circulation hours are: Monday - Saturday: 09:00 am - 05:00 pm.
Note: Faculty member can issue CDs/DVDs and reference materials.
Q Where can I return a book/s?
A You can return the book/s at circulation counter only.
Q How do I access the library resources?
A You can access the library resources by following way
For physical material.
All physical materials are spread over library, the journals/magazine, newspapers, reference books and gifted books are kept in Stack section of library.
For E-Resources/Databases
Most of the e-resources are IP authenticated and you can access the same from anywhere within the campus. For more details about e-resources/databases please visit library website under the Resource – E- Resources menu.
Q Why do I need to write my name/assign signature on the book card at the time of borrowing?
A It is to protect you against false issuing of documents against your account (which is a possibility). In this situation the Central Library takes full responsibility to protect your account.
Q How do I return the materials?
A Documents may be presented at the Circulation Desk during the circulation hours. Always verify your account to ensure return.
Q How can I renew a book?
A Books that have not been requested by another borrower can be renewed at the Circulation Desk. A document can be renewed five times, upon which it needs to be returned to the Central Library.
Q How can I keep abreast of the due dates?
A Regularly check your Patron ID available online via IFW ERP to know the details of overdue books and fines. Also see the due date slip in the back page of issued books.
Q How can I borrow an item which is currently checked out to another member?
A One needs to 'reserve' the book by filling up the appropriate information available online at the Circulation Desk. Same can be done online by the user him/her self.The book will be issued to you on its return.
Q Is there any late fee for documents returned after due date?
A The late fee is Re.1/- per day per book. The late fee should be paid before the clearing no dues annual exam.
Q How can I get a book not in the open stacks?
A The book may be in use by another Central Library member, or it may have been put aside, such as waiting to be shelved/ missing/ lost/ disposed and in bindery. Please ask Central Library staff.
Q Can I request the Central Library to purchase specific, new material?
A Of course. Complete a 'Requisition Form' by downloading from and hand over to the Central Library acquisition section. All indents should get forwarded by their respective Heads. Requisitions may be made based on catalogues or other available sources. (New Books are displayed round the year, replaced with new titles).
Q Any photocopying facility available for Central Library documents?
A Charged @ Rs.1.00 per page single side (black & white) and @ Rs. 01.50 per page both side (black and white) for students and staff also. This facility free for faculty and staff members’ free only official purpose. Only Central Library documents will be allowed for photocopy, within the permissible pages as per the Copy right rules.
Q What are electronic journals and databases?
A N-LIST and DELNET subscribed by Central Library (A number of journals and databases are available in full-text format to the Central Library members. Check the list of electronic journalsavailable on the central library's homepage http:/rkpatnigirslcollege.edu.in/library. Q What should I do if lost the issued Books?
A Immediately report to the Circulation In-charge, Central Library for loss of Book in prescribed format and replaced a new copy within 7 days.
Q How can I view the status of items I have asked the Central Library to purchase?
A Check regularly the weekly New Arrivals alert sent through email and posted on the New Books List in the Central Library webpage/Library Notice Board.
Q Where can I find answers which are not here and Reference query?
A Reference & Information Service is another value-added service of the Central Library. It satisfies the specific information need of the users. This section promptly makes available books, journal articles, reports or data/statistics, etc. to the users, which are currently not available with our library. For this service, library use to send information request to the other networked institutions/libraries or publishers. Anyone can send their Reference query to send an e-mail library.rkgc@rkgirslcollege.edu.in (Over all Library Activity). Answers will be provided as soon as possible.
