Dear Students,
As part of Wildlife Week Celebration, three exciting activities are being organized to encourage awareness, creativity and scientific understanding of wildlife and biodiversity.
🦁 A. WILDLIFE QUIZ COMPETITION
Test your knowledge about:
* Wildlife diversity & biodiversity
* Endangered and threatened species
* National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries
* Indian wildlife
* Conservation strategies
Rules:
* Team participation (teams will be made spontaneously)
* Questions will cover basic to advanced wildlife and conservation topics.
* The decision of the quiz committee will be final.
🐯 B. “KNOW YOUR SPECIES” – PRESENTATION COMPETITION
Choose ONE wildlife species and prepare a scientific presentation covering:
* Scientific & common name
* Biological characteristics
* Habitat & distribution
* Ecological importance
* IUCN Conservation status
* Major threats
* Conservation measures
Rules:
* Presentation must be scientifically accurate and student-prepared.
* Maximum 5 minutes per participant.
* Maximum 8–10 slides.
* Use of photographs, diagrams and references is encouraged.
* Avoid excessive text; focus on scientific content and originality.
📸 C. PHOTO EXHIBITION
“VANISHING VOICES: ENDANGERED WILDLIFE EXHIBITION”
Students are invited to submit photographs highlighting Threatened and endangered wildlife species.
Photo Guidelines:
* Photograph should clearly represent a wildlife species.
* Each photograph must include:
Species Name | Scientific Name | IUCN Conservation Status | Location/Source | 2–3 lines of informative description
* Original photographs are encouraged. If a photograph is sourced from the internet, the source/credit must be mentioned.
* No inappropriate, edited or misleading wildlife images.
* Photographs should promote wildlife Identification and conservation awareness.
📅 SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 7 October 2026
📌 Submit your entries to the PG Department of Zoology.
🏆 Certificates & prizes will be awarded to outstanding entries.
