On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child 11th October 2022, the Department of Sociology is going to organize debate competition.  The topic of the debate will be:

“बदलाव के इस दौर में बालिका सशक्तिकरण चुनौतीपूर्ण है।

Note:

  • The competition is open for all the students.
  • Last date of registration is 10.10.2022.
  • Participants must submit their entries to the Department of Sociology, Room Number 102(Arts Block) between 9.40 AM to 12.30 PM.
  • Participants must mention whether she will speak in favour or against of the subject.
  • Certificate and prizes will be given to position holders (I, II and III)

The rules of the debate competition are as follows (11th October, 2022):

  • Timings of the competition will be 1.00 PM.
  • Participant must report to the Seminar Hall at sharp 12.15 PM.
  • The judgment will be based on content, oratory skills, presentation skills, clarity of thought and confidence.
  • Each participant will be given maximum 4+1 minutes time to deliver either in favour or against the subject.
  • A warning bell will be given after 4 minutes and final bell after 5 minutes.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final.
  • Participant must start her presentation mentioning code number, favour or against of the topic.
  • Extra time will be given to the participant who will give her presentation first.

On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, the Department of Sociology organized a debate competition today. The topic of the debate was बदलाव के इस दौर में बालिका सशक्तिकरण चुनौतीपूर्ण है. 

Dr. Mitesh Juneja (Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology) said that about 29 students participated in the debate competition, which was judged by Dr. Hukum Singh Champawat (Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi), Dr. Varsha Jain (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce) and Dr. Shraddha Rajput (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry). Nandini of B.Sc. Maths Part-II secured first position, Tina Mulani of B.A. Part-II secured second position and Shivani Banjara of B.A. Part-III secured third position.

CA Subhash Agrawal (Director & Secretary, College Management Committee) congratulated the winners and said that the topic chosen for the debate competition is very relevant for the present times as there are challenges in empowering the girls today but the Wonder-Girls of SRK Patni Girls College have proved that no challenge can hinder them to achieve success.

Dr. Ravi Sharma (Principal) appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and said that participation is more important for victory. Participation instills courage, agility and enthusiasm. The more you clear yourself on the stone of participation, the more you shine.

At the end of the program, certificates and prizes were given to the winners and all participants received the participation certificates.
