"The PG Department of Geography, in collaboration with Swastik Edustart, Delhi, successfully concluded a Certificate Course on Basics of GIS held from 1st to 31st August 2025 in hybrid mode. The programme saw active participation of 186 students and was coordinated by Mrs. Rohini Yadawar and Dr. Bratati Dey. The course provided hands-on training in GIS tools like ArcGIS , QGIS, and Python, enhancing students’ practical and analytical skills. A written examination on 4th September 2025 evaluated participants, after which online certificates were awarded. Director of the college Management Committee, CA Subhash Agarwal, congratulated the students and appreciated the initiative for promoting GIS-based professional skills. Principal, Dr. Shailendra Patni highlighted the role of such courses in capacity building and employability. Student feedback was highly positive, with many expressing interest in advanced GIS courses, marking the programme as a successful and enriching initiative."
